Community Crossroads Center (formerly Greenville Community Shelter) was established in January of 1988. We are a “night only” emergency shelter and the only homeless shelter in Pitt County, NC. For 32 years, through all sorts of weather, natural disasters, financial turmoil, tough times and even a pandemic, the doors to Community Crossroads Center have always remained open.Our mission is to “serve the homeless and those at risk of homelessness by providing safe housing and assisting them in developing a long-term plan that leads to self-sufficiency.” We are a non-profit agency that relies on grants, fundraising and donations to ensure that we can provide for the homeless in Greenville and Pitt County. In 2019, we provided almost 30,000 nights of sleep for 629 individuals including men, women, children, and veterans.Greenville and Pitt County - We Need Your SupportTuesday May 4th will be Giving Tuesday and you support has become even more important as we begin to more into the next phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the last year the center has had to reduce operations but has continued to stay open and provide shelter, meals, tests, and now vaccinations. Our partnership with the Brody School of Medicine and Vidant has helped to ensure that all our residents continue to have access to healthcare.During the 2020 Winter Giving Tuesday campaign the center raised over $45,000. This campaign’s goal is to continue that bar and to raise once again over $40,000. With your help this goal will be a reality!COVID-19 has impacted most every aspect of life in our community and recognize that the pandemic has presented financial challenges for many.
